Type: Full-time

Experience Level: Senior

OVERVIEW

Whiteboard is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you’ll lead a variety of projects across branding, web, and digital campaigns—ensuring that work is delivered on time, on budget, and with excellence. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams and serve as the primary liaison between Whiteboard and our clients, many of whom have long-term relationships engaging in work across disciplines.

Our ideal candidate is a clear and confident communicator, a steady presence under pressure, and a natural problem solver. You have a strong grasp of creative and digital workflows and know how to navigate the nuances of cross-disciplinary collaboration with clarity and confidence. You know how to plan and pace complex projects, coach multi-disciplinary teams, and keep things moving while ensuring quality. You’re especially equipped to support long-term client relationships, and you know how to nurture ongoing partnerships while keeping project health in check.

LOCATION

Whiteboard is a digital marketing agency based in Chattanooga, TN with a remote-first culture and a passion for building impactful digital experiences. Bonus points if you are in the Chattanooga area and can work on a hybrid work schedule coming into the office occasionally. We value community and our work culture, so making time to visit HQ, co-working locations, and attending team events is encouraged.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Client Communication & Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients—managing communication, project health, and stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle
  • Lead client meetings with confidence—setting agendas, capturing takeaways, and guiding conversations with clarity
  • Build strong, long-term client relationships that foster trust, partnership, and growth

Project Planning & Delivery

  • Lead end-to-end project planning—building timelines in Asana, tracking milestones, and managing deadlines and budgets across brand, web, and campaign projects
  • Set up all necessary project infrastructure (Slack, file organization, dashboards, templates) to support efficient workflows
  • Identify risks early, plan for contingencies, and resolve blockers to keep projects on track
  • Ensure deliverables are aligned with client expectations and delivered on time and within budget

Team Leadership & Internal Collaboration

  • Collaborate with creative, strategy, and development teams to move work forward through all phases of production
  • Coordinate team resourcing and support clarity of roles and responsibilities across departments
  • Mentor junior project managers and contribute to the evolution of project management practices at Whiteboard

Budgeting, Scope & Operations

  • Monitor budgets daily—tracking hours, identifying overages, and managing scope changes with transparency
  • Contribute to scopes of work and proposals by providing input on assumptions, risks, timelines, and team capacity
  • Partner with the accounts and sales teams to support long-term client success and present growth opportunities as they arise

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 3+ years of experience in project management at a creative, branding, or web agency
  • Proven track record of leading projects across strategy, design, content, and development
  • Strong written and verbal communication—you’re proactive, empathetic, and organized
  • Experience using Asana (or a similar PM platform) to plan and track projects
  • Strong time management and organizational skills—incredible attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple priorities with ease
  • Working knowledge of CMS platforms (Webflow, WordPress, etc.) and the digital production process
  • Familiarity with brand systems, campaign development, and/or integrated marketing workflows
  • A desire to work for redemptive brands and causes
  • A sense of humor

BONUS POINTS

  • Experience managing large accounts or long-term client relationships
  • Familiarity with value-based and outcome-oriented delivery models
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum project management methodologies
  • PMP, CSM or other Project Management Certifications

QUALITIES WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You love learning and self-teaching, but you’re not afraid to ask for help.

When faced with something you don’t understand—you’ll prompt AI or Google and read a reputable article or watch a trusted tutorial before you ask someone how to do a thing, but you also can identify and communicate when you need assistance or additional context to be successful.

You’re critical of your own work and always getting better.

You’re the kind of person who can always see how their own work can be improved — you don’t wait for someone else to tell you when something is off or could be better. You take good critical feedback seriously and you remember to apply it next time also without being asked.

You can edit someone else’s work and polish it up.

You’re not afraid to edit someone else's work or provide clear, courteous, honest feedback to help the team arrive at a better result.

You're open-minded.

You're comfortable working on a variety of brands with different belief systems.

You sweat the small stuff.

You're always watching for typos, and keeping an eye out for the details that others miss. You get that the last 10% of a project is what can make all the difference.

You’re self-organizing.

You manage your own time and work effectively and efficiently. You’ve got a pulse on when you’re approaching a project or task’s budget cap and you’re comfortable working against a deadline.

You can express your opinion confidently and courteously.

You’re not scared to speak up when you disagree, or when you think something needs improvement, and you do it with confidence and respect for others.

You're a self-starter.

You understand when you already have permission. You see something broken, and you fix it. You see how to improve something, and you make it happen.

You're a team player. (You don’t have an ego)

You don’t care who has the idea, as long as it’s good. You care more about the end result than personal recognition. You’re excited to contribute as part of a team to produce a better final result together than you could create on your own.
