The Outreach and Intake Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for incoming referrals to Restore, conducting trafficking screenings, determining program eligibility, completing client intakes, and offering resource coordination. This role provides crisis intervention, manages on-call contractors, and ensures timely connection to internal and external services. Their work is essential in ensuring survivors and those at risk receive immediate, trauma-informed support and access to critical resources.

About the Position

The Outreach & Intake Coordinator will be the primary point of contact for incoming referrals to Restore. This role is responsible for conducting human trafficking screenings, determining eligibility for core programs, completing intakes, providing crisis intervention, and ensuring that new clients are connected to services at Restore or with external partners via resource coordination. The Outreach & Intake Coordinator will also coordinate the scheduling for the on-call contractors. While this role will not be responsible for establishing relationships with external partners, they will be expected to maintain and nurture existing connections and work closely with the Director of Client Services, who will oversee partnerships and major training. The ideal candidate will be trauma-informed, strong in relationship management, detail-oriented, and highly skilled in crisis intervention, intake processes, and resource coordination. They will be experienced in working with adults from underserved communities, have case management experience, and possess knowledge of human trafficking and/or gender-based violence.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for incoming referrals via Restore’s referral line, help email, and website.
  • Conduct trafficking screenings and determine eligibility for Restore’s core programs.
  • Complete intakes and ensure timely connection of new clients to appropriate services at Restore or with external partners through resource coordination.
  • Provide crisis intervention and safety planning as needed.
  • Coordinate and manage the schedule for on-call contractors to ensure adequate coverage. Ensure after-hours incoming referrals are timely and appropriately connected to requested and available services.
  • Supervise and support a part-time assistant who will assist with referrals and client intake-related tasks.
  • Maintain and nurture professional relationships with external partners regarding Restore’s programs, updating partners about services and capacity to fulfill program goals.
  • Assist with delivering internal and external training on referral overview, human trafficking identification, and introduction of Restore’s programs and services.
  • Consult with program directors to monitor program/service capacity closely and manage waitlists on Apricot.
  • Administer impact assessments to all incoming clients across programs at intake, before enrollment in a core service.
  • Ensure accurate and complete client records in Apricot, including required intake and identification documentation, before transitioning cases to the next program or staff.

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience providing services to survivors or other vulnerable populations.
  • Experience conducting intakes, assessments, crisis intervention, and/or outreach.
  • Experience coordinating or providing oversight to interns, volunteers, or staff, including assigning tasks, ensuring accountability, and supporting workflow efficiency.

Requirements

  • Deep commitment to the healing and well-being of survivors of trafficking
  • Proven ability to effectively assess and respond to high-crisis situations, ensuring client safety and appropriate service connection
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed principles and experience working with individuals affected by trauma, particularly in high-stress environments
  • Ability to work independently, to efficiently prioritize tasks, and to meet deadlines
  • Excellent telephone and e-mail communication skills
  • Strong relationship-building/management skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Degree in Social Work, Mental Health, or a related field

Preferred Requirements

  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Seminar Training in Field Instruction (SIFI) certified

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $65,000–$70,000, based on qualifications, relevant experience, and ability to meet role responsibilities. Restore offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:

Job Location

This job is based in New York City and is hybrid. It requires on-site presence at Restore’s office two days per week and at the Queens Family Justice Center (QFJC) one day per week. Additional on-site attendance may be required for crisis response and urgent needs.
