Sr. Manager, Marketing & Communications
Praxis
The Sr. Manager, Marketing & Communications will grow, engage, and tell the stories of our worldwide community and Praxis programs across digital, web, and print platforms.
About the Role
Praxis began in 2011 with a desire to support and equip Christian entrepreneurs and has grown into a venture-building ecosystem with a redemptive imagination, supporting founders, funders, and innovators motivated by their faith to address the major issues of our time. Our work, which is powered by an outstanding team of over twenty builders and operators, centers on a global community of founders, funders, and innovators pursuing redemptive entrepreneurship. Over the years we have developed and shared our ideas and practices across and beyond this community of practice, through publishing, gatherings, and digital (email, social, web, and podcast). In the next phase of our work, we aspire to scale our reach and deepen our engagement considerably—through new programs and products, paired with upgraded content marketing, storytelling, and brand management.
The Senior Manager, Marketing & Communications will help make redemptive entrepreneurship accessible and engaging to a range of audiences, rooted in our active community of 1,000+ closely-connected practitioners and 30,000+ digital followers. This person will bring the best of Praxis—including programs, Playbooks, case studies, stories, research, courses, books, and tools—to our community and beyond through effective content marketing, communications practices, and robust systems. This seat in the organization has the opportunity to directly advance our 30-year vision of making redemptive entrepreneurship commonplace.
The person in this role will collaborate across the organization as a trusted partner in our marketing, communications, and digital presence. They will be responsible for how our worldwide community and readers experience Praxis through channels including web properties, regular email communication, social media, our podcast, and other storytelling venues—through a consistent, trustworthy tone and a high bar of excellence in execution. As an organization, we aspire to “use our creative gifts to tell the truest version of our story rather than the grandest” and demonstrate that “nonprofits can become known as the greatest truth-tellers” (from the Story commitment in The Redemptive Nonprofit playbook). We will look to this role to embody the redemptive possibilities of marketing and communications.
Candidates should have experience in designing and executing communications plans and building systems to support that delivery, including managing multiple projects simultaneously and collaborating with team members and contractors amid evolving priorities. They should bring experience in content marketing (social, web, email) that will allow us to scale our ideas for greater reach and impact. We’re looking for an ambitious, strategic leader who can manage and deliver the details of day-to-day execution with empathy for our audiences, resonance with our ethos and voice, bias for action, keen attention to detail, and a spirit of innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver an operationally excellent, mission-advancing stream of organizational communications, including our email newsletters, social media channels, the Praxis Journal, our Community Update (print and digital annual report), web content, grant reporting support, and other future channels.

- Develop and report on key metrics to evaluate channel and campaign performance, including for reach growth, audience engagement, and process effectiveness.
- Maintain and improve communications and brand infrastructure for efficiency and fidelity, including website maintenance and development projects, brand asset development projects, database integration, Playbook and other print asset distribution, and brand resources for team members and contractors.
- Leverage other team members, contractors, AI tools, and agencies to accomplish the above.
Core Competencies & Qualifications
- Strong marketing writing skills (message development, web and email copy, internal concept briefs for design sprints and decision-making, brand standards, etc.)
- Communications operations and management (editorial calendar development, campaign management, project management, vendor management)

- Curiosity and aptitude for finding and deploying emerging AI tools to support key role activities
- Fluency in project management and systems thinking, including database and website integration
- Fluency in brand management, guidelines, and execution
- Operational excellence and keen attention to detail
- Ability to thrive and reliably deliver in an environment of innovation and prototyping amid ambiguity
