Summary
The IT Infrastructure Administrator is responsible for the support, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the organization's IT environment. This includes on-premises and cloud systems, network infrastructure, voice services, endpoint management, and security. The role ensures infrastructure reliability, performance, and compliance to support daily operations and organizational growth, including adherence to HIPAA and PCI standards.
Key Responsibilities
User Onboarding & Offboarding
- Provision user accounts, hardware, phone extension, access permissions, and software during onboarding
- Coordinate with HR and managers to ensure timely access to systems and services
- Revoke access, collect equipment, and archive user data during offboarding
- Maintain and audit user access control logs to ensure compliance and security
Endpoint Support
- Provide broad support and troubleshooting for workstations, laptops, and printers
- Manage patch deployment for operating systems and third-party software
- Perform software installations, maintenance, and printer configuration
Microsoft 365 Administration
- Manage Exchange Online (mailboxes, distribution lists, and security groups)
- Monitor and manage security features including phishing, spam, malware protection, Safe Attachments, Safe Links, DKIM, and DMARC
- Ensure compliance through DLP policies and retention policies configurations
- Manage SharePoint document libraries
Mobile Device Management (MDM) - Microsoft Intune
- Oversee device enrollment (Enrollment tokens, Apple MDM push certificates, Apple Business Manager)
- Configure administrative templates, device features, and restrictions
- Ensure device compliance across Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows devices
Cloud Infrastructure - Microsoft Azure
- Maintain virtual machines (Windows Server, SQL Server)
- Manage Azure VNETs including routing and private endpoints
- Administer Azure Front Door features including WAF, DDoS protection, and load balancing
Unified Communications - PBX (3CX)
- Create and maintain user extensions, IP phones, SIP configurations, call routing, ring groups, and digital receptionists (IVR)
- Oversee backup, failover configurations, and version upgrades
- Configure and maintain E911 compliance and SIP failover
Network Administration - Firewall and Switching
- Administer FortiGate features including firewall policies, interface zones, NAT, SSLVPN, IPSec VPN, NGFW features (Web Filter, AV, IPS), DNS, WAN failover, and SAML authentication
- Maintain network segmentation and isolation
- Maintain managed switches (FortiSwitch, UniFi) including VLANs and LLDP
- Manage UniFi Wi-Fi
- Maintain SSL certificates
Database Administration
- Manage SQL Server, including user account administration and access control
Security & Incident Response
- Execute incident response procedures for security breaches
- Implement and maintain endpoint detection and response (EDR/MDR) solutions
- Conduct traffic analysis and maintain logs for audit and forensic purposes
Backup & Disaster Recovery
- Manage backups for virtual machines, databases, email, and documents
- Maintain retention policies, replication, and restoration procedures
Hardware, Software, & License Management
- Maintain hardware and software inventory and ensure license compliance
- Track renewal schedules to avoid service interruptions and audit risks
Documentation & Standard Operating Procedures
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and escalation processes
- Maintain audit and compliance logs aligned with HIPAA and PCI standards
- Keep updated network topology diagrams and asset inventories

Qualifications
Required:
- 3 Years+ Experience in IT infrastructure administration, including systems, networks, cloud services, voice systems, and endpoint devices
- Proficiency in managing enterprise productivity platforms for email, collaboration, and identity management
- Strong understanding of server operating systems and directory services
- Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure, virtualization, networking, and storage
- Familiarity with firewall configuration, VPN technologies, and general network security best practices
- Experience with endpoint and mobile device management across multiple operating systems
- Understanding of backup and disaster recovery principles
- Awareness of regulatory compliance for HIPAA and PCI
- Ability to manage onboarding/offboarding processes and enforce security and access controls
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
Preferred:
- Experience with Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Security & Compliance Center)
- Administration experience with Microsoft Azure (VMs, VNETs, Front Door, Private Endpoints)
- Knowledge of Fortinet products including FortiGate firewalls and switches
- Familiarity with Ubiquiti UniFi network hardware and management tools
- Hands-on experience with 3CX or similar PBX/VoIP systems
- Experience using Microsoft Intune for device enrollment, configuration, and compliance
- SQL Server user administration and basic database management
- Experience with RMM tools for monitoring, patching, and asset management
- Proficiency in PowerShell or other scripting languages for automation
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or Fortinet NSE
