ACC Team Lead Application (2025-26)
Lead For America
LFA/ACC is seeking highly motivated Returning Members to serve in the role of Team Lead during Program Year (PY) 25-26.
Note: This position is contingent upon pending AmeriCorps grant award and other key funding.
Role Purpose
The Team Lead role is designed for dedicated, skilled Returning Members who have demonstrated readiness for additional leadership and growth opportunities. Team Leads leverage their prior Member experience, diverse skill sets, collaborative mindset, and passion for programmatic initiatives to help build a stronger, more connected, and more impactful Member community.
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates for the Team Lead role will reflect a deep understanding of and commitment to the expectations of the role, and will demonstrate the ability to meet or surpass those standards.
As with all Member roles, Team Leads’ first commitment continues to be excellent direct service with their Host Site to their community.
Beyond that, the Team Lead role requires (1) engagement in specific Team Lead program activities, and (2) consistently holding and role-modeling mindsets that build connection and foster collective ACC impact. These include:
Mindset Expectations
As peer role models, it is essential that Team Leads consistently demonstrate a commitment to holding and fostering mindsets such as:
- Community focus, servant leadership
- Growth mindset, curious and open to learning
- Asset-based, finding the opportunity and value even in challenges
- Discretion and maturity that earns and builds trust
- Hustle and drive to help others to see the path forward
Activity Expectations
It is essential that Team Leads continue to meet Host Site expectations for outstanding direct service. Team Lead-specific activities will often - though not always - require additional time outside of the standard 40-hour Host Site service week.
To ensure balance, Team Lead activities will be carefully selected to average 3-5 hours any given week and will include:
- Dedicated activities to support a cohesive, engaged community among assigned pod and full Member cohort. Examples: General community-building initiatives, individual check-ins, offering guidance through responsive and proactive check-ins
- Special roles at ACC Member events. Examples: Planning/facilitation//event management roles at Orientation, Winter Institute, Graduation
- Support Member skill development and curriculum learning. Examples: Support Members in timely completion of digital skills modules
- Inform ACC program improvement through feedback, insight gathering, and data. Examples: Focus group participation, supporting analysis of insight data, participating in curriculum pilots
Basic Requirements of the Team Lead role include:
- Confirmed Returning Member status, including a confirmed Host Site, for PY25-26
- Understanding of and articulated commitment to the Team Lead Role Expectations
- Demonstrated exceptional motivation to provide the highest quality service in Host Site community, as evidenced by PY24-25 Monthly Impact Report data and other impact tracking/stories
- Strong track record of program engagement through consistent participation in program offerings - both ongoing (e.g. Pods) and special initiatives (e.g. National Days of Service)
- Candidacy supported by Host Site Supervisor (via an Endorsement Form)
- Remains in good standing and successfully completes current term of service
Members who serve as Team Leads gain benefits including:
- Secure and grow additional skills such as project management, peer leadership, and facilitation - through formal training, practical experience, and access to mentorship
- Influence and support programmatic decisions through input and feedback
- Provide peer support and leadership that creates a more impactful and positive experience for the full Member cohort
- Differentiated title that indicates year-over-year advancement in job history
- Additional stipend compensation (+$2000/full service term)
