The Opportunity
We’re looking for a motivated and diligent Intern to join our team. This internship is predominantly remote with some in-person opportunities in Virginia. This is an excellent opportunity for rising second and third-year law students who want to explore a meaningful career as a future prosecutor or in the anti-trafficking space.
Reporting directly to the Director of U.S. Programs, the internship is scheduled to start in August 2025 and will last through December with a 10-hour per week commitment. Though this is an unpaid internship, HTI will coordinate with the intern’s university to provide class credit, if applicable.
Projects You’ll Work On
- Researching issues impacting human trafficking law.
- Assisting in the preparation of training materials and presentations.
- Collecting, organizing, and analyzing human trafficking enforcement data.
What You’ll Do
- Research and write case notes, articles, and memos.
- Serve as research and data assistant for HTI’s Virginia programming.
- Attend meetings, briefings, trainings and events relating to HTI’s Virginia programming.
- Create, edit and review training materials, resources, guides, and presentations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must be a rising 2 or 3L, or an LLM student.
- Strong legal research and writing ability.
- Meticulous attention to detail; strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to efficiently and independently produce a professional work product.
- Proactive and innovative problem solver.
- Team player with a sustained positive attitude.
- Prior experience with LexisNexis or Westlaw, PACER preferred.
Work Location
This role is predominantly remote, however, with the opportunities for in-person work in Virginia, preference will be given to applicants located in that state.
