About Flourish Fund

Flourish Fund is a venture philanthropy organization seeking to catalyze large-scale social innovation for human flourishing. At their best moments throughout history, followers of Jesus have changed the ways society cares for the most vulnerable – unlocking the possibility for more people and communities to flourish. We believe this transformation can happen again in our lifetime, and generous givers can fuel this change.

Our first initiative, Flourish: Children & Families, focuses on reimagining foster care and strengthening vulnerable families through strategic philanthropic investments. We are guided by the conviction that the church has unique institutional, communal, and spiritual resources to address fundamental problems of relational brokenness, creating sustainable, redemptive change through both local implementation and national field-building efforts.

The Opportunity

We seek an exceptional Senior Program Manager to join our growing team and support our programmatic efforts. This role offers the unique opportunity to execute how philanthropic capital drives innovation in child welfare, combining the rigor of venture capital with the heart of social impact.

You'll manage a diverse portfolio of grants across Flourish Fund's initiatives, particularly its first initiative on child & family well-being: our $2 million Technology & Innovation program helping organizations leverage AI to transform foster care outcomes, and our place-based investments in communities across the country. This is a chance to work at the intersection of faith and social innovation while building the infrastructure for a new kind of strategic philanthropy.

Core Responsibilities

Grant Portfolio Management (60%)

  • Manage 15-20 active grants simultaneously, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives established by the Managing Director of Strategy & Impact
  • Conduct initial outreach to potential grantees and maintain primary relationships throughout the grant lifecycle
  • Review and analyze grant applications, conducting due diligence and preparing funding recommendations for leadership
  • Draft grant agreements that clearly articulate project descriptions, deliverables, and success metrics
  • Monitor grantee progress through regular check-ins, site visits, and milestone reviews
  • Coordinate strategic support for grantees
  • Coordinate with Community Leads to identify high-potential organizations and support place-based engagement in our target geographies

Measurement & Evaluation (20%)

  • Implement measurement frameworks designed by the Managing Director of Strategy & Impact
  • Coordinate data collection and impact reporting across the portfolio
  • Analyze program outcomes and cost-effectiveness metrics to inform future funding decisions
  • Partner with grantees to strengthen their evaluation capacity
  • Prepare quarterly and annual impact reports for board and donors

Field Building & Convening (15%)

  • Plan and facilitate grantee convenings to foster collaboration and shared learning
  • Identify opportunities for cross-portfolio connections and partnerships
  • Document and disseminate best practices and innovations from the portfolio
  • Represent Flourish Fund at sector conferences and events as needed

Systems & Strategy Support (5%)

  • Collaborate in designing and implementing Flourish Fund's new grant management system
  • Support the Managing Director in continuous improvement of grantmaking processes
  • Assist with fundraising efforts by preparing compelling grantee stories and impact data
