Title: Director of Client Acquisition Marketing Reports to: Chief Operations Officer
Location: NYC, Remote FLSA and Status: Exempt, Full-Time Salary: $90-110,000
Position Summary
The Director of Client Acquisition Marketing is a strategic and proactive marketing leader responsible for designing and executing national and local campaigns that drive user acquisition and conversion. This position focuses on scalable, multi-channel marketing initiatives that grow Avail’s client base through SEO, paid media, content, and lifecycle marketing strategies. Reporting to the COO the Director of Client Acquisition Marketing collaborates cross-functionally with Client Services, Technology, and Development to align acquisition strategies with Avail’s impact goal: to reach 1 in 5 people facing unintended pregnancy, past or present, by 2035 across all care platforms. The ideal candidate is data-savvy, mission-aligned, and experienced in performance marketing and user growth across diverse channels and platforms and leading and offering strategic direction to a small lean marketing team.
Key Responsibilities
Client Acquisition Strategy ● Develop and execute campaigns across digital platforms (Google, Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, Instagram) to increase national client acquisition. ● Own client acquisition SEO and SEM strategy and execution, optimizing content and technical performance to align with user search intent. ● Lead targeted audience segmentation, personalization, and retargeting strategies. ● Create value-driven content (blog posts, videos, guides, audio) that supports user engagement and acquisition goals. ● Explore emerging platforms and trends to reach younger and underserved audiences. Lifecycle & Performance Marketing ● Design and manage lifecycle marketing flows that guide users from awareness to conversion. ● Optimize conversion funnels and implement data-informed retargeting strategies to re-engage visitors. ● Collaborate with the CMGO to define KPIs, build dashboards, and analyze channel performance for continuous improvement. ● Leverage tools like Google Analytics, Search Console, and CRM systems to monitor and optimize performance. Marketing Operations & Technology Integration ● Implement and manage marketing automation tools, CRMs, and booking systems that support client acquisition and care. ● Partner with Client Services and Technology teams to align user experience improvements with marketing goals. ● Support integration of AI-enabled tools to deepen personalized engagement and increase efficiency.
Cross-Functional Collaboration ● Work with Client Services to ensure alignment between outreach and service delivery. ● Partner with the Development team on storytelling and messaging that supports fundraising and engagement. ● Contribute to brand positioning by ensuring acquisition campaigns reflect Avail’s voice and values.
Team Leadership & Vendor Management ● Supervise junior marketing staff or contractors focused on acquisition and performance marketing. ● Manage relationships with agencies or freelancers to support campaign execution. ● Support budget planning and efficient allocation of advertising and growth resources.

Launch & Optimization of a Scalable, Multi-Channel Acquisition Engine ● Rollout of at least 4-6 high-performing campaigns across paid, organic, and social media channels. ● Established attribution models to track ROI by source/channel.
SEO and Content Performance Lift ● Increase in organic traffic by 20–30% within 6–9 months. ● Growth in non-branded keyword rankings and domain authority. Lifecycle & Retargeting Campaigns Driving Re-Engagement ● Implementation of lead nurturing and re-engagement i.e. personalized email and SMS flows. ● Retargeting campaigns, where applicable, yielding measurable uplift in conversion (e.g., 10–15% lift from returning visitors). ● Journey mapping developed and implemented and used to identify drop-offs and close gaps.
Minimum Qualifications
Education, Experience, Knowledge, Competencies
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
Work Experience: 7+ years of progressive experience in marketing and growth roles, with at least 3 years in leadership. Proficient in digital ad review across leading platforms, including Google and Meta, with a deep expertise in navigating advertising policies to ensure compliance and mitigate risks. Experience leading integrated campaigns using Google, Meta, TikTok, and other emerging platforms. Proven success in user acquisition and retention through multi-channel marketing strategies. Experience in developing and executing organic SEO strategies to optimize site traffic and increase visibility without reliance on paid ad platforms. Experience in nonprofit, digital health, mental wellness, or purpose-driven care sectors preferred.
Knowledge Areas: Expertise in organic and paid search, SEO/SEM, technical SEO (including JavaScript-heavy site optimization), content marketing, and email marketing. Advanced knowledge of performance marketing, audience segmentation, retargeting, and lifecycle marketing. Exceptional analytical skills and fluency in data platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Search Console, CRM systems and social media analytics). Strong understanding of SEO principles and technical best practices, with experience addressing challenges related to JavaScript-heavy websites (CSR). Expert in developing and executing retention-focused marketing strategies that prioritize building long-term client relationships, fostering loyalty, and enhancing lifetime value. Familiarity with influencer marketing, social audio, Discord communities, and growth experimentation. Success in national brand expansion, early-stage platform growth, or post-product-market fit scaling. Skilled in leveraging personalized engagement, targeted communication, and data-driven insights to create seamless client experiences across all touchpoints, ensuring sustained satisfaction and continued brand advocacy.
