Position Summary:
The Chief Marketing & Growth Officer (CMGO) will serve as a visionary and strategic executive leader responsible for architecting and executing a holistic, multi-channel marketing and growth strategy focused on diversified client acquisition, brand positioning, and sustained national expansion. This individual will lead the marketing and growth function for All Avail clients (self-guided and facilitated) while building out performance, user acquisition, and retention engines that drive toward Avail’s impact goal of reaching 1 in 5 people facing unintended pregnancy, past or present, by 2035.
The CMGO will report to the COO and work in close partnership with the strategic leadership team, serving as a key architect of Avail’s long-term growth vision. The ideal candidate is data-savvy and deeply mission-aligned leader with a proven ability to innovate and lead through ambiguity to clarity, scaling mission-based impact through modern marketing technologies, user insights, and cross-functional collaboration. The CMGO requires a deep understanding of organic and paid acquisition and retention, SEO, social media, content marketing, user acquisition, and data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, capable of building and leading a high-performing marketing team and driving significant impact on our mission.
Principle Duties
● Strategic Vision & Leadership
○ Lead the development and execution of a data-informed, integrated marketing and growth strategy that advances Avail’s mission and strategic priorities.
○ Translate high-level vision into measurable marketing strategies that elevate brand visibility, deepen engagement, and drive scalable impact.
○ Align marketing and growth initiatives with organizational milestones and KPIs set by the executive team and board.
● Performance Marketing & Insights
○ Oversee multi-channel performance marketing initiatives across paid, earned, owned, and shared media to drive client acquisition and engagement.
○ Develop and manage comprehensive analytics frameworks, including dashboards and KPIs, to measure campaign effectiveness and inform decision-making.
○ Leverage tools such as Google Analytics, Search Console, and UX platforms to assess user journeys, identify conversion barriers, and implement data-driven optimizations.
● Lifecycle Marketing & Client Acquisition
○ Design and lead lifecycle marketing strategies using segmentation, personalization, and retargeting to maximize user engagement and client retention.
○ Implement high-impact SEO/SEM strategies, content marketing, influencer partnerships, and community-based marketing to accelerate national client acquisition.
○ Explore and innovate on emerging platforms (e.g., TikTok, Pinterest, Discord, Spotify) to connect with target audiences in meaningful and creative ways.
● Technology Integration & Digital Client Experience
○ Guide the integration of CRMs, AI tools, booking systems, and marketing automation to enhance digital care delivery and personalize client interactions.
○ Collaborate with client services and programs teams to ensure seamless, tech-enabled support aligned with Avail’s impact model.
● Brand Management & Positioning
○ Steward Avail’s evolving brand identity to ensure consistency, emotional resonance, and clarity across all channels.
○ Position Avail’s platforms as innovative, compassionate, and client-centered within the care and emotional health landscape.
● User Retention & Engagement
○ Lead strategies that build long-term user relationships and brand advocacy through personalized journeys and seamless experiences.
○ Develop and execute retargeting campaigns to re-engage past users and increase conversion.
● Cross-Functional and Executive Collaboration
○ Act as a strategic thought partner to the executive leadership team, contributing to narrative development and external positioning.
○ Ensure alignment between marketing, development, and client service teams to unify program delivery and fundraising efforts.
● Team Leadership & Culture Building
○ Build and lead a high-performing, mission-aligned marketing and growth team, nurturing innovation and professional growth.
○ Foster a culture of mentorship, coaching, and continuous improvement.
● Vendor and Budget Oversight
○ Manage marketing and growth budgets with a focus on ROI, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
○ Oversee vendor and agency relationships, identifying high-performing partners and emerging technologies.
● Strategic Partnerships & Product Marketing
○ Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with influencers, organizations, and platforms to expand reach and credibility.
○ Support marketing teams in validating and optimizing platform features that drive user satisfaction and conversion.

Minimum Qualifications
Education, Experience, Knowledge, Competencies
● Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in marketing, business, or related field preferred.
● Work Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in marketing and growth roles, with at least 5 years in executive leadership. Proficient in digital ad review across leading platforms, including Google and Meta, with a deep expertise in navigating advertising policies to ensure compliance and mitigate risks. Experience leading integrated campaigns using Google, Meta, TikTok, and other emerging platforms.
Proven success in user acquisition and retention through multi-channel marketing strategies. Experience in developing and executing organic SEO strategies to optimize site traffic and increase visibility without reliance on paid ad platforms. Experience in nonprofit, digital health, mental wellness, or purpose-driven care sectors preferred.
● Knowledge Areas: Expertise in organic and paid search, SEO/SEM, technical SEO (including JavaScript-heavy site optimization), content marketing, and email marketing. Advanced knowledge of performance marketing, audience segmentation, retargeting, and lifecycle marketing. Exceptional analytical skills and fluency in data platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Search Console, CRM systems and social media analytics). Strong understanding of SEO principles and technical best practices, with experience addressing challenges related to JavaScript-heavy websites (CSR). Expert in developing and executing retention-focused marketing strategies that prioritize building long-term client relationships, fostering loyalty, and enhancing lifetime value. Familiarity with influencer marketing, social audio, Discord communities, and growth experimentation. Success in national brand expansion, early-stage platform growth, or post-product-market fit scaling. Skilled in leveraging personalized engagement, targeted communication, and data-driven insights to create seamless client experiences across all touchpoints, ensuring sustained satisfaction and continued brand advocacy.
