Position Summary: A nursery helper is to support a nursery teacher and

contribute to the overall well-being and development of young children in

childcare by assisting with classroom activities, supervising children,

providing individual support, and maintaining cleanliness and safety.

Role Responsibilities

● Assisting with classroom activities: Supporting nursery teachers

in implementing

age-appropriate curriculum activities and engaging children in

learning

experience

● Supervising children: Monitoring and supervising children during

classroom

activities, playtime, mealtimes, and outdoor play to ensure their safety

and well- being at all times

● Providing individual support: Offering individual support and

assistance to

children who may need extra help with tasks, such as toileting,

feeding, or

dressing, and providing encouragement and positive reinforcement

● Preparing materials: Assisting with the preparation and

organization of classroom

materials, including setting up learning centers, arranging toys and

equipment, and ensuring that supplies are well-stocked and easily

accessible

● Maintaining cleanliness: Helping to maintain a clean and

hygienic learning environment by sanitizing surfaces, assisting with

diapering and toileting, and ensuring that children wash their hands

regularly

● Assisting with administrative tasks: Providing administrative

support to nursery teacher, such as recording attendance, updating

records, and assisting with communication with parents

● Assisting with transition time: Supporting children during

transition time, such as arrival and departure, naptime, and transition

between activities to help them feel secure and comfortable

● Promoting positive behavior: Modeling positive behavior and

providing guidance to children on appropriate social skills, conflict

resolution, and self-regulation techniques

● Communication with parents: Building positive relationships with

parents by providing updates on their children’s progress, sharing

information about daily activities and experience, and addressing any

questions

● Collaboration: Working collaboratively with the nursery teacher,

other nursery helpers, and school staff to create a cohesive and

supporting learning environment for children

Position Qualifications

● Certificate in child development course

● At least 1 year of experience as a nursery teacher

● Excellent team player and good at creating team work
