Key Responsibilities:

1. Consultations and Hair Analysis:

Conduct consultations to understand clients' hair goals, assess their hair

health, and recommend suitable styles and treatments based on their hair

type.

2. Natural Hair Care Services:

Specialize in a variety of natural hair treatments, including but not limited

to:

○ Loc maintenance (retwisting, reattachment, and grooming)

○ Braiding, cornrows, and twist-outs

○ Blowouts, flat iron styles, and heat-free styling techniques

○ Deep conditioning and moisture treatments for dry or damaged

hair

○ Scalp treatments (e.g., for dandruff, dry scalp, or buildup

removal)

3. Protective Styling:

Perform protective styles such as braids, twists, weaves, and extensions,

ensuring minimal stress on the hair and scalp while promoting healthy

growth.

4. Makeup application and Nail care

Perform a range of nail services including manicures, pedicures, gel nails,

acrylics, and nail art. Advise clients on nail care, hygiene, and aftercare to

help them maintain healthy nails.

5. Client Education and Product Recommendations:

Provide clients with personalized tips on natural hair care, including proper

home care, recommended products, and styling techniques to maintain

healthy hair between visits.

6. Sanitation and Hygiene:

Ensure a clean and sanitized work environment by following salon

protocols for sterilizing tools and maintaining hygienic standards to protect

client and staff health.

7. Customer Service and Retention:

Build strong, lasting relationships with clients by providing exceptional

customer service, understanding their preferences, and ensuring a

pleasant salon experience. Encourage client retention through follow-up

appointments and personalized care.

8. Stay Updated with Trends:

Keep up to date with the latest natural hair trends, products, and

techniques. Attend training workshops, seminars, or online courses to

continuously improve your skills and knowledge of natural hair care.

Qualifications:

● Licensing:

Hairdressing certification/license recognized in Uganda, with a focus

on natural hair care (certification in specific techniques like braiding,

loc maintenance, or natural styling is an advantage).

● Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of professional experience working as a natural

hair stylist in a salon or related environment. Experience with a

diverse range of natural hair types, from coily to wavy textures, is

essential.

● Expertise:

In-depth knowledge of African hair textures and the ability to work

with various hair types, including:

○ Natural curls, coils, kinks, and afros

○ Protective and low-manipulation styles

○ Use of natural and organic products in hair treatments

Customer Service Skills:

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with

clients, providing clear advice and recommendations for hair care.

Passion for Natural Hair:

A genuine passion for natural hair care and helping clients embrace and

maintain their natural beauty.
